Easter Vacation and what I did!

Day 1: The car ride was about 3 hours and a little bit more as we took a wrong turn on the way, but otherwise it was fine. We arrived around 17:30ish and just unpacked the stuff from the car said hi to a family friend and had roasted chicken with vegies and stuff for dinner. Then we watched a movie and went to sleep.

Day 2: Woke up around 11:30ish and just had bread with some stuff for breakfast, then we just chilled around for a bit, not doing anything in particular. After a while we headed over to Lachys pops and nanny (his grandparents) who live next door. They were real nice and had that real Australian accent, which was pretty cool. They also owned a dog called Katie (if I remember correctly), nice small dog and very friendly.

Lachy also has two cats; however one is there but not there so it does not really listen to anybody. Then we decided to get lachys dads 250cc bike up and running. It worked real nice despite how old it was, but after about 15 minutes we lost control and crashed, hehe, it was nothing serious as we were not going very fast. Lachy who was driving got away unscratched, whilst I got a small scratch on the inside of my right leg. Nothing that won’t heal within a week or a couple of days.

Then we drove around the citrus orchard on the bike and it was pretty big. Then we decided to take a drive in the car down to the town, “Narrandra”, Lachy showed me where everything was. This included the outside swimming area, the tennis club, the “Mad Mile”, the city council and the two different ovals. The “Mad Mile” is just a road heading out of town, where the road is basically made of sand and everyone who drives on it drives really really fast, as if they were mad.

Afterwards we watched a movie again and then had dinner and then watched another movie.

Day 3: During this day we woke up again around 12:10ish. Decided not to do anything particular in the morning except to check out some movies, then around 14:00 we decided to go outside and just play some soccer. Then Lachy had to help out repairing some old machinery, so I and Perry (Lachys brother) took a swim in the pool. However we had to clean the pool out of frogs before we jumped in. When we got out there was another frog back in the pool again.

Perry also told me of when he accidentally picked up a snake with his hands, when he was reaching into the filter of the pool in order to get to a ball which had landed in the hole to the filter. So I have one good advice to everyone “Don’t put your hand where into a hole, which you aren’t completely sure of if it is free of snakes”.

Later on we went inside and watched another movie and a program on the TV, then we had dinner and just chilled out with some music for a while and eventually we decided to watch yet another movie again before heading off to bed around 1:20 in the morning.

Day 4: It is now Thursday and we woke up at 12:30ish and had breakfast. Then we headed off to the other closest town called Leeton. Here we visited Lachys cousins, Cassandra and Vanessa I believe their names were. They also had a small dog, which was very friendly. Later that night we went out to Leeton Hotel and had a couple of drinks and met up with Lachys friends. It was a nice night out, just chilling and having a couple of beers and just general jabbering.

Later on at around 01:00 the pub closed and so we had to leave. This is when a couple of fights broke out outside the pub; we had a look and then decided to head off. Most people were going to some after party somewhere nearby, but as the night progressed, cops started to show up here and there, so we decided to leg it back to Lachys cousins place where we slept for the night. This is now around 2:40ish.

Day 5: Woke up earlier than usual at 10:30 and had breakfast with Lachys cousins and their parents. Afterwards we said our goodbyes for the time being and headed back to Lachys place. After about 40 minutes Morris showed up and we headed out to fix some sprinklers out in the citrus orchard. I and Morris had to carry a very big ladder and it was full of really old smelly water, which we basically got drenched in. So we smelled like “shit”. (Morris is one of Lachys friends) When we were done we decided to go for a swim in the pool and just relax for a couple of hours as it was a quite hot day. Morris was playing some guitar and tried to avoid getting wet as he wasn’t swimming at first.

Lachy cleaned his car, whilst I just chilled in the kitchen waiting for dinner. We had salmon and some other white fish with potatoes and salad and some other fishy stuff. Then we had cheesecake for desert and eventually we just ended up in front of the computers again and Morris played some more guitar.

Day 6: We woke up late and decided to go out during the night. It was a real good night, had a couple of beers and drinks at some different bars in Narrandra. Plus we watched a bonfire outside Mitches house. (One of Lachys friend’s house) It was real nice and we had a BBQ at Mitches house as well, so it was a real nice night.

Day 7: Woke up very early to go back home from Mitches house as we slept over at his house. Driving home in the morning was not very nice as everyone was very tired from the party the night before, except for the guy driving as he had not been drinking at all.

We came back home to Lachys place and there we went back to bed as it was around 7 in the morning when we arrived. A couple of hours later we were woken up in order to go to a lunch with Lachys parents, brother, cousins and cousin’s family. After the lunch we just went back and slept and did nothing in particular, the next day we left in the car heading back to Canberra and right now I am sitting here typing this, which means that I am back in Canberra and Uni has started again.

Review Tests!

Today I had economics and accounting for managers review tests. The accounting one is worth 30% of the overall grade in economics and the accounting for managers is worth 20% of the overall grade for the unit. I believe that the economics one and that the accounting for managers one went good. I think that I should not fall below 70%, however you never know as the review tests were multiple choice questions.

Both of the tests were a total of 40 different questions each. There was a couple of ambiguous questions as always, when there are multiple choice questions. For some of the questions the answer could have been either of two choices, depending on how the question was approached. So for some of them I was not completely sure about what the correct answer was.

We haven't gone out for a couple of nights now as most people have had to study, but on saturday I believe that me, ash, lachlan, kev, alistair, james and company are going out, because next week is a lecture free week and thus we do not have Uni stuff going on. During this one week off I'm going back to lachlan's place to checkout the country-side a bit. However sadly ash is going back to Sydney, so we won't see each other for a whole week (OMG right?). Anyways I've been going to the gym everyday and fallen asleep a couple of times afterwards.

Well that's all for this time... :)

News News News ! ! !

Yea thats right, it's been a long time since last time. But I'm back here again. There has been a slight re-arrangement here at UC. Between me and Ashlee that is. Yeapp it's what you think it is. I've finally got myself a girlfriend. Her name is Ashlee and yes it is the girl that lives in the same apartement as me and the other guys and girls.

Ash never gets angry and is almost always happy unless something sad/bad has happened. So I basically come home after Uni to the apartement and what do I find??? Ashlee :)

Thats the major changes here around campus, otherwise I got 45/50 on my IT assignment for programming and the Java programming which I am handing in today is as I believe it...going to be good aswell, so now I have an average of 91.2% in IT :)

Update It ! ! !

Yea that's right, it's been a while since my last update. However now I have something to talk about. Daniel is here in Australia. We went out last night (thursday night) and we had heaps of fun. We first went bar hopping because we were very early out and then we decided to play pool for an hour and then we hit up the clubs around civic in Canberra.

During thursday, me and daniel went and bought a basketball and a ball pump. Then we and Kevin, this dude from Sydney went and played some B-ball. As we were playing I was reaching for the ball and at the same time Daniel slipped and kinda kneed my hand so that my wrist got completely pushed together, so now it hurts. Today I went and got a elastic bandage sorta thing to keep it stabilized, however it still hurts when I type on a keyboard and stuff which is really annoying.

Well today manny people have left to go back home during the weekend, so ash, alistair amongst others have gone home for the weekend. But that's perfect cause this means we have enough beds here for Daniel too, so we are all sleeping in real beds instead of sleeping on the floor.

Hmm what else is there... Oooh yea, done with my economics presentation which if I'm not wrong is the only economics presentation that I have to do during this unit for economics. However for the presentation I and one other girl had done the same question, so I was only allowed to expand on her discussion of the first question and I basically only needed to present one question, which was very easy.
I even have to correct the tutors definition sometimes, which sorta buggs me a little bit, but it's alright.

Well now we have started learning the Java programming language and soon we will have to create a Graphical User Interface for something. So IT is getting a bit more fun, however making the website was quite fun as well, since I've never done a real website before. Interestingly enough I think I did good on the assignment. FYI (For Your Information) I ony have one single Accounting for Managers assignment for the whole unit, which is really interesting, so that assignment is about 30% of our total grade for the unit.

Right now it's 00:25 and I am soon off to go to bed and tomorrow I would like to play some basketball again if my arm allows me to do it. The weather has to allow for that possibility aswell, because today it has been raining the whole time and it's been a very boring weather.

Lastly is that I think I will get my braces off really soon which is gonna be ... Wait For It ... AWESOME!!!

The 24th...

Went to the gym today again and I am going tomorrow aswell as I´ve gotta get Lachy starting on the gym. Right now the girls are getting ready to go out for a night at the lighthouse, however to everyones suprise I am not going out tonight. Have to do some studying and recap some subjects that I should have done last week, nothiing major though, just small stuff. Today I´ve finished my Economics assignment and one of my ISO assignments. Both which were quite easy. Now I´ve gotta start on my IT assignment. This is gonna be a little trickier but still nothing majorly hard.

Otherwise whats happened this week? Well Sunday and Monday I felt really bad, probably had some kinda small sickness, because I couldn´t study or concentrate on anything for a long time without getting a headache. But that´s all good now. The units I am doing feels very easy, but I am not sure that they should feel very easy and therefore I think I have to study some more in order to see if they are easy or only portrayed as being easy.

The chapters in the books are extremely long however... Sooo much text in each chapter hahaha :)

My Day Off...

I wish it was, today I have been learning HTML and I still have Econ assignment and my resumé to type up. The future is looking dark for me. No fun today work work work. But I suppose the Doriotos Nacho Cheese Chips make up for the bad parts and so do the chocolate chip cookies and the lemonade. However I am infact in pain. Working out two days in a row for the first time in ages does give you a very high dose of muscle pain. It even hurts when I laugh, so as I said before no fun today.

Overall the lectures are quite boring. The stuff they talk about is interesting but the way they talk is way to slow and there is not very much interaction going on between lecturer and students. The tutorials however are fun, because there´s lots of stuff happening and we are actually doing something instead of just listening to someone talk.

In terms of how hard the subjects are gonna be, I believe that Econ will be the easiest, then Information Systems in Organisations, Accounting for Managers and the hardest will be the Information Technology one, as 50% of the course basically is programming. While the other 50% is the theory behind programming languages and how programs are designed etc.

Soon I think I´m gonna take a pain killer cause it is hard to concentrate when moving your arm hurts all the time... :) that is all for this time...

Broken Ancle, scratched knees and glass cuts...

Well it can´t get any better than this, that is sure. Steph broke her ancle last night when she fell, because she was wearing very high heels. At first it didn´t seem as if anything was wrong, just like a twisted ancle I was told today. Later however she was unable to walk at all and then today when the girls went to the hospital with her, the X-ray showed that she had broken it badly. She might have to have surgery... tomorrow we will get to know if the surgery is necessary or not. At the same time as when she fell, she cut her hand a little bit on some broken glass. But it was still a good night out...

Running through the bushes to catch the bus from the Uni bus-stop Annika fell and scratched her leg, which now has become infected. So it was a hell of a night last night.

However I remain unscratched, un-hurt and perfectly fine. The night out was a lot of fun even though we had our times of damage. Tomorrow I think we might be headed for the coast if it is sunny and that will be a lot of fun and nice to get out there again.

Today we went to the Belconnen Mall and I got myself a haircut, the regular short cuts I always get. The hairdresser who was cutting my hair on the other hand was very unusual. She just couldn´t stand still and kept shaking her hands without stopping. She was also jumping around, so it was quite interesting to watch her. Finally we have a toaster now, instead of having to do the toasts in a hot frying pan. Now the only thing left to do is to check out what we are going to have for dinner...

That´s about everything that has happened today and yesterday night...
